Full-time · Cape Town · Client Services
You are the person an organiser calls at 23:00 the night before their event — and you already know the answer.
Howler powers ticketing, access control, cashless payments, streaming and the event app for some of South Africa's biggest live experiences: Ultra South Africa, Comic Con Africa, Black Coffee Weekender, MTN Bushfire and more. Behind every smooth gate-open is a web of internal teams — Event Operations, Finance, Product, Marketing, Data, Customer Support — all needing the right information at the right time. That coordination does not happen by accident.
We are hiring an Account Manager to own a portfolio of client relationships from sales handover through to post-event closeout. You will be the main day-to-day contact for your clients: gathering their event requirements, briefing internal teams, tracking deadlines, catching risks before they become problems, and making sure everyone — client and Howler alike — has what they need to deliver a great event.
The job
- Own your client portfolio. Manage assigned clients and events end to end. Build strong professional relationships and keep clients regularly informed on progress.
- Run the onboarding. After sales hands over, you take the baton. Gather all event information, assets, timelines and operational requirements and get them briefed clearly to internal teams covering ticketing, access control, cashless, app, reporting and support.
- Track every deadline. Maintain accurate event briefs, trackers and project plans. Chase deliverables. Nothing falls through because you did not follow up.
- Flag risk early. Spot client dissatisfaction, commercial discrepancies or delivery concerns before they escalate, and surface them to the right people in time.
- Support Finance. Ensure internal teams have accurate client and event information for quotes and invoices. Help resolve settlement queries and billing questions. Document commercial exceptions correctly.
- Translate and communicate. Turn internal or technical information into clear, client-friendly updates. Prepare debrief notes and feedback summaries. Support difficult conversations with guidance from senior team members where needed.
- Close out properly. Coordinate post-event reporting, gather internal feedback, support client debriefs and make sure learnings are captured for the next event.
You, ideally
- 2–4 years' experience in account management, client service, event coordination, project coordination or a similar role.
- Strong communicator — clear, professional and timely, in writing and in person.
- Highly organised with excellent administrative ability and sharp attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple clients, events and deadlines at once without dropping threads.
- Calm and solutions-focused under pressure.
- Background in events, ticketing, hospitality, entertainment, sport or experiential industries is a real advantage.
- Familiarity with ticketing platforms, access control, cashless systems, CRM tools or project management tools is a bonus.
